Do parakeets have to be let out of their cage?
I am considering getting 2 parakeets. I have read that parakeets should have time outside their cage every day. But, I have 4 cats so I would be nervous about this! I had parakeets years ago and never remember having to let them out, so this is new to me. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Paraketes do not have to be let out and ESPECIALLY not with cats in teh house (if you are unsure) Some birds and cats get raised together so they get along but most do not.
Those who let Budgies out are usually one bird familys. With 2 birds, they interact with each other and not with the humans.
It is also best to have the cage hung high in an area where the cats cannot get near them or the cats might think the birds in a cage are a neat game and traumatise the birds to death. Good luck
